Membership

Becoming a member of the Home & School Club is one major way that you can support Graystone and your child(ren)'s education.  Our membership drive is the largest fundraiser of the year, accounting for more than half of the money that we raise to provide and fund the programs we, as parents, feel are important for our children's educations.  Membership dollars go directly to our children.

Graystone School relies on H&SC to provide more than $200 per student in benefits. In addition, membership entitles you to vote on budget issues and expenditures. It gives you a voice in the organization.  You can help decide if we need to spend more on the Art and Music programs or if we need new books for the library.  

Membership comes with a student directory, but what membership really gives you is the ability to help direct the breadth and depth of our children's educations.  

And please don't forget, many companies have corporate matching programs for charitable donations; and that is exactly what a donation to the Graystone Home & School Club is.  The Graystone Home and School Club is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Donations are tax deductible, and many companies offer grant and gift matching programs.

Volunteer Opportunities

Throughout the year we put on both fundraising events and programs for the students and we rely on our Graystone parents to make these programs successful.  From marking laps for our yearly Walk-A-Thon to helping out at Sports Day, you don't have to volunteer to be a committee chair to make a big impact.  There are plenty of ways you can help both at events and at home preparing for our events.  Please check out our Volunteering Pages to see where you can make a difference.  

Fundraising

Throughout the year there are numerous ways you can help raise money for Graystone; and many of these require little effort.  We try to minimize the amount of "selling" we ask you and your kids to do to support our school.  Instead we take advantage of partnerships with businesses to raise money all year long.  Fundraising programs include the escrip program, the cash card program, various store card promotions, box tops for education, diner's nights, and a partnership with America's Best Karate.

  • ESCRIP -- Link your Safeway card to Graystone and Safeway will donate a percentage of every purchase.  More Information ...
  • Cash Cards/Gift Card Program -- The H&SC sells gift cards to almost any store you might want.  Buy your gift cards from us and the H&SC gets a percentage of the face value (percentages range from 1%-15% depending on the store).  Cards are sold on site Mondays and Fridays before and after school in the SuperDome or you can email cashcards@graystonehsc.org with an order.  Orders can be picked up during on-site hours, can be sent home in your oldest child's white envelope on Friday, or can be picked up in the office.    We highly encourage our Graystone families to average a purchase of just one Gift Card a month to help us raise money for all the wonderful programs the H&SC supports.  More Information ...
  • Box Tops for Education -- Look for the Box Tops for Education sign on participating products, clip them, save them, bag them, drop them off in the office.  Graystone H&SC gets 10 cents for each box top.  More Information ...
  • Amazon Affiliates Program -- You can help raise money for the Home & School Club, simply by clicking on one of the "Amazon Affiliate" links on our website (the box to the left or in the sidebars) when you want to shop at Amazon.  When you do this, Amazon links your purchase to the Home & School Club (not your personal information) and donates a percentage of your purchase (between 2% and 15% -- average of 4%-6%)  back to the Graystone Home & School Club.  This is a great, and easy, way to earn money for our school with no extra expenses for you! Learn more...
  • Diner's Nights -- Approximately each month the H&SC partners with a local restaurant.  Go out to dinner, bring the flyer that comes home in the Friday white envelope to give to the restaurant, and that restaurant donates a percentage of your bill (15%, 20%, 25%) back to the H&SC.  More Information ...
  • Various store card promotions -- Target and Lucky both have school promotions that bring money into the H&SC.  Register your Target card online and link it to Graystone H&SC.  Pick up a Lucky Graystone card to scan when you shop at Lucky.  
  • America's Best Karate -- America's Best Karate (ABK) is offering discounted matrial arts training for all interested Graystone Elementary students and families.  In addition they will donate the proceeds from registering for 10 classes and a uniform to the Home & School Club.  The entire registration fee is donated to Graystone!   Click here to learn how...
  • Almaden Pilates -- Almaden Pilates and the Graystome H&SC are pleased to announce discounted Pilates training for all interested Graystone Elementary Parents. Almaden Pilates donates an introductory consultation and 10 mat classes to the school. If interested, you may purchase classes directly from the school with 100% of the proceeds going to the H&SC.
  • Super Suppers -- Donates 5% of your total purchase if you mention you're a Graystone family.
