Technology
Cindy Toffey from the technology department explained the various software packages that children use at school. From home, parents can see the progress of their children through Renaissance Home Connect. Contact your teacher or the technology department if you have not received your username and password.
From the school website you can click on “classroom pages”, then “parents”, and then “Renaissance Home Connect”. For Accelerated Reading (AR) you can see the quizzes your child has taken, vocabulary quizzes, or find books through Bookfinder. Accelerated Math covers tests and practices for grades 2-7; with “Mathfacts in a flash” you can let your child practice at home.

Principal’s report
The annual Halloween parade will be on Friday October 28th at 9:15 on the blacktop. Your child can come to school in costume and change back to regular clothes after the parade and class party.
The school district is doing preventative maintenance on campus: installing a gate by the green play structure, painting lines on the blacktop for lining up in the morning, installing new filters in the A/C units. The big play structure is still waiting for a new platform for the slide.

Teacher's report
Liz Marino thanks the Home & School Club for the ELMO's that have been installed in all classrooms. They are a wonderful addition to the classrooms and make showing the children materials so much easier.

Library News
Diana Dahlin reports that the new library and textbook management system does not have parent accounts, so a solution has been found for parents who wish to check out books.
Parents can now check out books on their child's account. 8 books can be checked out in total per account. Checkout time is one week.
