This will be our first annual fundraising event for adults only with dinner, dancing, plus a silent and live auction. All Graystone parents and friends of Graystone parents are welcome to attend. Can't get the hubby to go, bring a couple girlfriends for a girl's night out.
The Graystone Home & School Club holds three main fundraising events throughout the year to raise money to fund many of the amazing programs we have here at Graystone. Budget cuts have forced school districts to cut many of the programs that we took for granted as children; enrichment programs such as art and music and technology opportunities including our computer labs and technology support staff.
The money we raise through our beginning of year membership drive, the new Graystone Grown-up Gathering, and our annual Walk-A-Thon allow us to support and fund programs such as Art Vistas, music classes, computer programs such as PebbleGo and World Book On-line, and enrichment programs including AR Reading and AR Math.
New to our fundraising efforts is the first annual Graystone Grown-up Gathering. It is an adults only evening held at the Scottish Rite Center located at 2455 Masonic Drive (near Almaden Expressway and Hwy 87). There will be a crab and pasta dinner followed by music and dancing. Also at the event are our annual silent and live auctions. Businesses throughout the area have generously donated goods and services to help us meet our fundraising goals.
The cost to attend the Graystone Grown-up Gathering is $45 per person. The $45 includes a crab feed and pasta dinner, wine or pilsner glass with the Graystone Grown-Up Gathering logo on it, and after dinner music and dancing. Wine and beer will be available for an additional cost at the event.
Download and fill out a registration form for the Graystone Grown-Up Gathering, then bring it to school to register between Monday, January 23rd and Friday, February 3rd. We'll be in the SuperDome every day after school till 3:30 and Monday and Friday mornings before school starting at 8:30. If you can't make it to school, you can send in the registration form with a check made payable to Graystone Home & School Club with your child and we will email you a confirmation.
GGG Registration Form - Download, print, and bring it with you or send it in with your child to register.
Please note – this fundraising event is meant for adults only. The CDC will be open from 5:30-11:30pm and charge $40 for one child, $60 for two children and serve your kids dinner and desert. For more than two kids contact CDC for pricing. Contact the CDC at 997-1980 to reserve your spot; space is limited.
Dress is what we are calling "Date Night." What does this mean? It means to wear what you would for a nice night out. You don't have to get all dressed up, but you can if you want.
We have many terrific items for you to bid on at this year's silent and live auctions. Remember that all proceeds go directly back to our kids' educational programs, so bid early and bid often.
A sampling of items we have for auction include gift certificates to local restaurants and signed memorabilia from local sports teams, to name just a few. The live auction will include the priceless "Spot in the Lot" parking spaces. In addition, Graystone families have generously put up for auction stays at vacation homes. Click on the auction catalog cover at the right to see a listing of all the items in our auction.
Our fabulous Graystone teachers are baking and providing all the desserts that we will be auctioning right after dinner. Get your table together and bid for your dessert. Let's see which teacher's dessert will bring in the most money for our school.
(this is just a sample of what is being auctioned)
If you want to show your appreciation for all the hard work our excellent teachers do every day for our kids, you can sponsor a teacher. Give your teacher a nice night out by paying for her (and maybe her significant other or a friend) to attend the event. We'll have a list of teachers who are planning to attend available at registration.
We are always looking for help at all of our events. If you have an 8th grader or a high schooler that would like to volunteer please contact Mai Elardo at maiandtom@earthlink.net.
