It's Going to Be a Great Year
Greetings Graystone Families,
Welcome back to school! I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing summer break. Now that we are back into the swing of things at Graystone, I’d like to extend a big welcome to all our new families and Kindergarteners. The first few weeks of school are always a time of adjustment. I trust it was an easy first week back to school on all of you. It was a pleasure speaking to some of you at the New Family Orientation last Friday. If you were unable to attend, I’d like to mention what was discussed.
Graystones Home & School Club has officially kicked off its 2011-2012 Membership Drive! This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. Please remember to return your membership form and donation to your child’s (or children’s) teacher. We are counting on your support and participation!
Please see the membership packet that was sent home in your child’s folder/white envelope. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. Each teacher is counting on 100% participation from their students in order to receive their additional funds the Home & School club provides. Teachers use this money to help in purchasing classroom resources throughout the school year. Our goal this year is $128,650. We are asking each family to give a minimum of $175.00 per student. However, Home & School Club would like to point out that it’s not the dollar amount that counts but your participation; without it, many of our great programs at Graystone would disappear.
Home & School Club would like to encourage you to sign up or renew your Safeway card for our eScrip program. It’s very simple to go to www.escrip.com and enter the Graystone ID#139430652. This is a great way to earn money for Graystone just by shopping.
I’d like to mention that Back to School Night will take place on Tuesday 8/30 starting at 6:30 pm. Please remember this is a parent’s only event and we encourage you to find child care. On Tuesday 9/6, at 9 am in the cafeteria, we will have our first Home & School Club meeting. Please join us after drop off and siblings are always welcome. We hope to see you there. This is a great opportunity to meet new families and be informed on what is happening at Graystone.
Lastly, our membership drive deadline is 9/15. Again, please remember to return your membership form to your child’s teacher even if you make your donation online. We want to account for each family and student to credit the teachers for your participation. Home & School Club greatly appreciates your donation and contribution! It truly makes a difference!
