Patty Dworkin & Stacy Pimental
The co-presidents work together to oversee the operation of the Home and School Club. They make sure the club runs smoothly supervising both budget issues and operations. The Co-Presidents run the monthly Home and School Club meetings and oversee the monthly agendas which coordinate the upcoming events, fundraisers, and school activities. They ensure the committee and volunteer positions are covered and running smoothly throughout the school year.

This year I am Co-President with Stacy Pimental. Please contact us with any issues or concerns you have through out the school year.
I am a stay at home mother to four great boys and wife to Jim, my supportive husband. We have twins, Zachary and Jeremy, that have gone through Graystone and are entering 7th grade at Bret Harte. We also have two boys at Graystone. Matthew will be entering 5th grade and Evan will enter 1st grade. I have volunteered in all of their classes, assisted in the library, coordinated the 5th grade end of year pool party, assisted with selling cash cards, was in charge of operations at Pumpkin Bust, coordinated the t-shirts for Spring Celebration for two years and will do so again this year and have served on the Board as Parliamentarian. I love the warm community atmosphere at Graystone. We tend to watch out for each other's children and what is in the best interest of the school. Please come to our H&SC meetings to see what's going on and how you can impact your child's learning here at Graystone. Stacy and I are open to new ideas, please share yours with us. I am proud to be Co-President this year and look forward to another great year at Graystone!

Stacy Pimental
Hello, my name is Stacy Pimental and I am so thankful to be a part of the Graystone Home & School Club board and its members. This is my first year as a member of the board, and I hold the position of Co-President along side Patty Dworkin.
This is my third year at Graystone and I have had the pleasure of being able to volunteer in the classroom group time, science lab, library time, roots and wings/project cornerstone, heritage day, yard duty, and around the school at various events and activities. I feel it is important to be involved and connected to my children, their teachers, and school administration. By actively participating on the board and in volunteer positions, this is accomplished and makes for a rewarding and memorable educational experience for all.
I have two children attending Graystone. Jake, in 2nd grade and Ryan, in kindergarten. My husband Chris and I grew up in Almaden, attended Graystone, Bret Harte, and Leland High School. We feel very fortunate to not only have our children following in our footsteps but to be a part of this amazing school and all the wonderful families in the community as well.
I look forward to the year ahead and hope to keep Graystone going in a positive direction. Patty and I are here to listen to new ideas and suggestions. We would like to have parents informed and involved. Please join us at the meetings and help out in any way that you can.
Go Graystone Grayhounds!

The responsibilities of the vice-president are:
Jobs this year: vice president HSC, scrip sales, Silent Auction Teacher Time, classroom volunteer, library helper
I am a stay at home mom with 3 children: a 9th grade son Thomas at Leland, a 7th grade daughter Emma at Bret Harte and a 2nd grade son Vincent at Graystone. My husband Raymond and I moved to San Jose in 1997 from the Netherlands when our oldest was just 6 months old.
I have always been involved with the schools, starting with parent participation preschools when the kids were little to board memberships, scrip sales, and volunteering in the classroom now. I firmly believe that you have to be the change you want to see, so help out and make it better.
By training I am a librarian / documentalist. Back in Holland I worked at a university library at a documentation center that specialized in applied computer science literature. I loved reading about how computers could be used for everything and I enjoyed helping students and professors find the right information they needed for their research. My favourite part was always working on the database and the keyword structures (thesaurus) and how to make it do what I wanted.
For fun I love to read, mostly science fiction fantasy books, current affairs, and comedy. My big hobby is knitting. I like to make sweaters and tops, as well as scarves, hats, and other accessories. There is something about playing with yarn, feeling the texture, and seeing something emerge from loops on a needle that is just magical! There is a brilliant online knitting community called Ravelry (www.ravelry.com) where I spend a lot of time.
For exercise I take Zumba classes several times a week. It's a lot of fun and very addicting. I have learned to appreciate a lot of Latin and Bollywood music that I previously didn't know about.
When we first started at Graystone we were instantly welcomed by many families and teachers which was such a great feeling. I like to pay that forward by welcoming new families and helping out where I can.

The primary responsibilities as Treasurer include overseeing all deposits and expenditures for our H&SC banking accounts. The treasurer creates the budget report which is approved by the members of the H&SC. A monthly report is created indicating where we are at with our fundraising efforts as well as the monthly cumulative expenses from each budgeted line item. Bank reconciliations and the provision of financials to our accountant are also a part of the treasurers duties. The treasurer spends a minimum of 5-8 hours a week performing H&SC responsibilities.
Hi All,Pam Doherty
The duties of the secretary include: preparing the monthly meeting agenda, track the sign-in sheet, and draft and post monthly minutes. I also create the classroom participation poster for the membership drive, and other administrative duties.
I’m a stay-at-home mom to 2 boys: Bradley (5th grade) and Cayden (2nd grade). From the time they were in preschool, I’ve been an active volunteer in their schools. I believe that education is such a big job, it takes a village to pull it off, so I try to help wherever I can. This year, my in-classroom volunteer jobs include: PE, library, and Art Vistas.
I have loved our time here at Graystone. The teachers they’ve had have all been amazing, and I feel very fortunate for the involvement I’ve been able to have in their classrooms and their education. I love the community here and all the great friends we’ve made!

Hi Graystone,
I am a stay at home mom married to a hardworking man named Jerry (someone’s got to work!). We have three kids. Joshua is an 8th grader at Bret Harte, Zachary is a 4th grader at Graystone, and Chloe is a 3rd grader at Graystone. This will be our 6th year at Graystone. We came to Graystone from a local private school after Zachary attended his Kindergarten year at Graystone. We instantly fell in love with Graystone’s sense of community and overwhelming opportunities for parent involvement. This is my 3rd year on the board. I was previously one of the co-presidents for two years and I have also been a co-chair for Spring Celebration the past two years and will be again this year. What I love most about Graystone is that I can share in my children’s school experiences. I have volunteered in the classroom assisting with group time, science, library, Roots & Wings, and many holiday parties. I also enjoy being a part of the H&SC, it gives all parents an equal opportunity to impact where the fundraised money is spent and allows parents a voice in their child’s education. I have never regretted moving my children from private school to public school, we all love Graystone!
