Welcome to Graystone Home & School Club

The Home & School Club is Graystone’s version of a PTA. We are a group of parents, teachers, and administrators dedicated to improving the educational opportunities for all students at Graystone. In addition to providing funds for vital programs, salaries of specialty teachers, and supplemental classroom supplies, H&SC promotes cooperation between parents and faculty and strives to create an environment where every child can flourish.

Graystone_square.pngInvitations came home Friday, January 20th for the 1st Annual Graystone Grown-up Gathering (otherwise known as GGG).  This year’s event will take place on Friday, February, 10, 2012 from 6pm to 11pm at Scottish Rite Center.  The cost is $45 per person and includes a crab and pasta dinner, dancing, and a fun silent and live auction with all proceeds going to support Graystone’s many supplemental programs, such as music, art, science, technology, and the media center. For information on attire, directions to the event, and the evening schedule, go to the event website at http://www.graystonehsc.org/GGG.  There are several different ways to purchase tickets.  Come to the Superdome, Monday, January 23rd until Friday, February 3. Amazon Affiliate Program

We are happy to announce that Amazon has reopened its affiliates program to its California clients.  You can help raise money for the Home & School Club, simply by clicking on one of the "Amazon Affiliate" links on our website (the box to the left or in the sidebars) when you want to shop at Amazon.  When you do this, Amazon links your purchase to the Home & School Club (not your personal information) and donates a percentage of your purchase (between 2% and 15% -- average of 4%-6%)  back to the Graystone Home & School Club.  This is a great, and easy, way to earn money for our school with no extra expenses for you!

Each time you go to Amazon, go through our link and you start an "Amazon session".  As long as you remain in an Amazon session (a session expires when you click off of Amazon and/or after 24 hours), each item you put in your cart will generate contributions to the Home & School Club when you make your purchase (purchases must be made within 90 days of being placed in your cart to generate contributions to the HSC).  If you click to another site and then back to Amazon your session will have expired and any items you now put in your cart won't be linked to the HSC. So, always click to Amazon through one of the links on our web pages.

Graystone Grown-up Gathering – February 10, 2012 from 6pm to 11pm

The first ever Graystone Grown-up Gathering is approaching quickly.  Tickets will be going on sale Monday, January 23rd.  Be sure to watch for your invitation coming home Friday, January 20th.  We are still in need of volunteers to ensure this event will be a success.  If you have some extra time on your hands and would like to join us and lend a hand, our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 12 in the café right after drop off.  We are in need of a dedicated individual to make calls for live auction items, as well as, a few parents interested in making follow up calls to letters already sent out.  Both of these tasks can be done from home.  We will also need many eager parents to help with setup on the day of the event.  Please contact Holly Case and Katrina Healy at ggg2012@graystonehsc.org if you would like to help.

The event is also always in need of more great items to auction off.  If you have access to any season tickets, vacation homes, or other items that could raise some much needed money for the school, please be sure to contact Holly Case and Katrina Healy at ggg2012@graystonehsc.org.  This event needs to be a success to help raise the needed funds for Graystone to continue to be a school that enriches the whole child with great supplemental programs such as Art Vista, Science labs, technology, a great library, and the many other extras provided to the Graystone students.  Please consider volunteering, donating, and attending this event in support of your students.
